The following occurred to me after first reading of this: What is this news item symbolic of - 'the modern family', or 'what's considered to be good TV in Britain'?
Beyond that, I flinch at the paucity of references to the 4+ fathers here.
Shane - indeed, there is only one reference to one of the "Dads" and that isn't the girls' father(s) either.
Birdie - indeed. I was amazed that the mother blamed the school. I agree that sex education in school is valuable but ultimately parents have to take responsibility for ensuring their adolescents are equipped to make the right decisions in life.

Isn't this just so sad though? Sad because it won't make anyone happy, and sad because no-one is taking any responsibility!
